But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its course automatically and clean them, without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I've found with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to take the mount off for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops in order to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.

It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well designed and the double-rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
